A Day in the Life

What is it like to live a life that is utterly devoid of meaning and purpose? Ah, I am so glad you asked. Please indulge me as I describe some of my more recent adventures:

"About three weeks ago my friend Luisa and I were supposed to pick up our buddy Carol at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) around noon. I drove to Luisa's house early in the day so we could grab some breakfast at a little Mexican joint called Campos. After eating we headed to one of my favorite places, the 99-cent Store. Luisa snapped a pic of my face as I drove over there with eager anticipation. There is no end to the deals you can find in that bargain hunter's paradise. While we were shopping Carol called to say that her flight had been delayed for an as yet undetermined amount of time. No problem. Luisa and I excel at killing time.

When we departed from the 99-cent Store, loaded down with 10 bags of groceries which had cost about $40 in total, I asked Luisa if she wanted to see a little house that I used to rent in Culver City. She seemed interested so I began motoring over there. I told her that I had leased the house very quickly after moving back from Arizona in the 1990s. One of the guys I had hired to help me move furniture had inquired if I wasn't a bit afraid to live in the neighborhood. "No." I had responded, slightly puzzled. "Why do you ask?" He had looked at me with surprise and then informed me that a 50-acre parcel of land devoted to a large welfare housing project was located down the road on Braddock Drive. That was news to me, but I moved into the house anyways. I lived there for about a year. In that time three bullets came through my living room window (all during the same incident) and numerous items were stolen from both my garage and vehicle. Nonetheless, I still have a fondness for that little abode at Coolidge and Braddock. Inside my Members' Area you can see photos of both the house itself and some of the units in the nearby public housing project. There is also a park in the vicinity where Luisa and I took some more pics. While we played at the park Carol called to say that weather had delayed her flight yet again, but that she hoped to board it soon.

Luisa and I left the park and started driving to our next destination, a tavern called Bar Melody which sits just outside the main road leading into LAX. When we arrived I asked Luisa to photograph the exterior of a neighboring business called the Acupressure Shiatsu Super Spa where men can go to get a little "rub and tug" or "steam and cream" action. The place cracks me up because they actually have a happy hour when you can get a discount on your morning handjob... "
